Stimulated by the support to continue my experiments, toward publishing the results of my research

In a historical laboratory that has produced Nobel laureates, we are developing a detector for subatomic particles and investigating its application for heavy ion detection, which is useful in the medical field. Because of the support from the scholarship, I can concentrate on my experiments although they are time-consuming, and our results will be published in an American academic journal. The support that I received has transformed myself into someone that I am proud of. I hope my juniors will also do their best as they are encouraged with this scholarship.

Someday I want to pass on the joy of engaging in research

We are observing gases in the outer space 5 thousand light-years away from earth with a radio telescope. Every day I am involved in research to clarify the mysteries of the origin of stars and the birth of humans. The reason why I can concentrate in my research is because the scholarship has solved my concerns about life and research balance. I sincerely hope that I will be able to pass on my problem-solving skills that I have learned through research to the society and everyone who has supported me.

Going further in researching the beautiful Japanese language

When I was studying Japanese at my university in China, I got interested in cognitive linguistics. Upon graduating, I came to Japan to further study linguistics under the support from a professor at Nagoya University. Currently, I am studying how verbs and idiomatic phrases are used to show surprise in Japanese. I want to continue to study Japanese language in the doctoral program and work toward my PhD, and eventually become a linguistic researcher. If I did not receive this scholarship, I would be forced to work part-time and would not be able to fully devote my time to my research. I am grateful from the bottom of my heart.

One day I want to give back what I have experienced to future students

At one of Japan's top-class observational cosmology research labs, I am studying the role of magnetic fields. Gaining financial leeway by receiving this scholarship, I was able to focus further on my studies and was able to bring my research up to a higher level. High enough that one of my papers had the opportunity to be published in the American Physical Society's periodical. As a future researcher, taking to heart the scholarship mission of giving to the person after you, as my gratitude to the foundation, I want to give back what I have experienced to future students.

Through new methods of manufacturing, we can contribute to society

Beginning from my desire of contributing to society by creating something the world has never seen, I set out to develop a new recording device. Using the precious scholarship funds provided, I was able to purchase academic books and materials and put all my energy into researching. Upon graduating, I will work at the research and development department in a car company. I would like to repay this favor that was given to me by creating values from scratch such as creating a value-added car as a living room on wheels.

By researching the Japanese living environment, I want to improve energy efficiency in my home country

I am studying the quantity of solar radiation in winter under the theme of energy efficient and comfortable indoor thermal environment. Originally I was studying Japanese wooden architecture, however, my research interest was expanded to the indoor environment, which led me to study at Nagoya University. Since I was saving money on living expenses while proceeding with my research activities, the scholarship money has been very helpful. In China, there has not been progress in the creation of energy efficient living environment, therefore, one day I want to work in a related industry and contribute to energy efficiency improvement in my home country.
